Located in Dallas-Fort Worth, this industrial manufacturer produces high-quality goods for various industries. The facility spans several acres and faced challenges with one of its silos in charge of storing raw materials. Due to extensive exposure to harsh weather conditions, the silo was experiencing severe paint failure, particularly peeling, which raised concerns about its durability and operational efficiency.

Requested Maintenance

The client sought a reliable solution to remove the deteriorating paint and apply a protective coating to extend the life of the silo. They needed an approach that would ensure the silo's structural integrity and longevity while withstanding harsh environmental conditions.

Scope of Work

Surface Sandblasting: Sandblasting the surfaces to expose bare, healthy metal.
Rust Inhibiting Primer: Application of a rust inhibiting primer to create a protective base layer.
High-Temperature Urethane Coating: Application of two coats of high-temperature urethane for enhanced durability and resilience.

Notable Details

To prepare the surface, we used sand blasting to remove all of the peeling paint and rust to ensure that the metal was in the best possible condition for the new coating.

We applied a rust-inhibiting primer, followed by two coats of high-temperature urethane, known for its ability to withstand extreme conditions, to provide enhanced protection against future flaking and corrosion.

We meticulously planned the project to minimize disruption to the customer's operations. By working closely with their team, we ensured that the silo could continue its role in the manufacturing process without significant downtime.
