Our client is a multinational consumer products company with operations around the globe. Known for its wide variety of products, this Louisiana-based facility plays a critical role in the company's supply chain. The facility includes multiple storage silos, catwalks, and various structural steel components. It is key to the company's operations, storing raw materials and finished goods.

Requested Maintenance

For this project, we were tasked with repainting corroded silos, railings and ladders. The goal was to address significant rust and corrosion issues that posed safety risks and affected the aesthetics of the facility.

Scope of Work

Initial Assessment and Preparation

Tarped off the perimeter to contain paint and debris
Installed screens over drainage points to prevent contamination

Cleaning and Surface Preparation

Water-blasted the silo and surrounding structures using a 6000 PSI power washer to remove loose rust and debris
Hand-tooled stubborn rust spots to ensure complete removal

Primer and Paint Application

Primed the silos with two coats of epoxy mastic to provide a robust base layer
Applied topcoats of urethane mastic in matching, attractive colors for added durability and visual appeal
Painted railings inside the tower with safety yellow, enhancing visibility and safety

Clean-Up and Disposal

Our team cleaned up all debris, bagged it, and ensured proper disposal, leaving the site in pristine condition
