Our client is one of the nation's leading manufacturers of wood and wood-alternative products, located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Area, Texas. The company has built a robust reputation in the industrial sector for its high-quality, durable products. The project site involved several key exterior components of the facility, which include a Cyclone Dust Collector, its supporting frame, bin, and railing.
Requested Maintenance
The client's primary request was for industrial corrosion control for the aforementioned equipment and structures. These exterior elements were showing signs of significant rust and fading that could compromise their functionality and appearance if not addressed in a timely manner. The extreme weather conditions in Texas, particularly UV exposure, posed a significant threat to the metal surfaces and required immediate intervention.
Scope of Work
- Power Washing: All surfaces were power washed with a high-pressure 6000 PSI stream to remove chalking, rust scale, and other contaminants, ensuring a clean base for optimum adhesion.
- Mechanical Tool Cleaning: We followed with mechanical tool cleaning to bring the substrate to a condition suitable for primer application.
- Primer Application: One coat of epoxy primer was applied to reinforce protection against corrosion.
- Topcoat Application: One coat of semi-gloss urethane was applied, and to ensure extreme gloss retention under the Texas sun, we used an ultra high-gloss urethane topcoat.
- Logo Application: After applying the base coat, we used the client-supplied logo template, followed by two additional coats of urethane over the logo for durability and a sharp, lasting appearance.
