Project Overview
As part of Barilla's facility rebranding initiative, the iconic mill house at its Ames, Iowa manufacturing facility required two oversized corporate logos and newly painted branding areas. Working in partnership with Custom Concrete Specialists (CCS), Painters USA completed the industrial painting and logo installation scope on one of the facility's most recognizable structures.
The project required months of planning, custom stencil development, precise layout, and high-access painting techniques to safely install the new branding more than 140 feet above grade. The Challenge
Unlike a traditional industrial painting project, this installation required balancing aesthetics with technical execution.
The mill house stands more than 140 feet tall, requiring specialized access equipment and careful coordination throughout the project. Two oversized corporate logos needed to be positioned with exceptional accuracy while maintaining Barilla's branding standards.
Because of the size of the building and logo graphics, even small alignment errors would have been highly visible.
Our Solution
Painters USA collaborated closely with Custom Concrete Specialists and Meyer Signs throughout planning and execution. Before work began, the project team reviewed logo dimensions, colors, stencil fabrication, and installation sequencing to ensure every aspect of the branding met project requirements.
Once on site, crews repainted the designated branding areas before carefully installing two oversized custom stencils. Working from boom lifts and suspended scaffolding, the team completed the installation with careful attention to alignment, finish quality, and overall appearance.
