ISO 45001 is a new Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standard, established in March of 2018 as the first international standard dealing with health and safety at work. This new ISO standard has replaced the OHSAS 18001 standard. ISO 45001 includes persons and entities that work under the responsibility of an organization, such as subcontractors and outsourcing providers, incorporating elements of the SCC (Safety Certification for Contractors) health and safety system.
Both ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001 “swim in the same pool” so to speak, but with notable differences.
